Responsibilities:
Manage the department personnel during their design activities
Ensure that specifications and deadlines are met
Identify potential inefficiencies and suggest possible improvements
Implement procedures applicable to the Department
Participate in the process of selecting and onboarding new coworkers
Control and monitor the loading and flow of work in the Design Engineering Department
Ensure appropriate checks are carried out on all designs prior to final release to customers or production
Ensure the department works within the guidelines of company quality procedures
Liaise with customers and all other departments providing technical assistance and advice required
Identify appropriate KPI’s for the department and individuals
Work efficiently and conscientiously with all personnel to maintain a clean and safe working environment
Identify the training needs of the staff and make recommendations for appropriate training/development
Provide effective engineering material science support into both the design and engineering function and the production process environments
Any other reasonable engineering activity or investigation or design request
Become familiar with the detailed procedures associated with design processes outlined in the company procedures
Back up any information that is on any local drives and ensure that any project and business data is stored on an appropriate central server
Record and keep all relevant emails (sent or received) in a file structure that can be easily understood by a third party
Check in and record any drawing/part data in the appropriate system and maintain the use of the correct part numbering systems
Use any change control system that is appropriate to the work
Maintain both design and drafting standards to any appropriate national or international system and work within the company's approvals as appropriate
Maintain current knowledge of all relevant engineering technologies application and manufacturing processes pertinent to the product range
Identify and report on any value-added improvement to the design and production processes
Liaise with and provide support to all manufacturing departments, including the shop floor, in the implementation and commissioning of any product
Attend as directed any appropriate vocational training, trade shows, or other public events
Directly support the sales, purchasing, or operations staff, as required, in their relations with customers or suppliers (may include occasional travel)
Requisiti dell'incarico:
Requirements:
Technical bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar
15 years of experience in a relevant engineering environment
5 years experience in a supervisory or management role
Excellence in the use of personal computer and MS Office
Ability to draft reports and technical documents
Excellent knowledge of Solidworks
Excellent communication skills
Ability to manage technical projects for product improvement and development of new products
Knowledge of the English language at C1 level minimum
